black and white live bundle #7: information

Live Bundle 7 was a straight continuation from Live Bundle 6 with three tracks recorded live at Edinburgh and two "mini-documentaries" recorded at the Lisbon Lions gig.
Both Ghostdancing and Let There Be Love had already appeared on Simple Minds Live Volume 1 and Simple Minds Live Volume 2 leaving Stranger as the live exclusive for this bundle.
However it was the two videos which were far more interesting.
The Lisbon Lions video followed the preparation for the gig with interviews with Jim, Charlie, Andy, Jim McDermott and John Ramsey. Much of the background behind the concert was revealed: it was Andy who first heard Simple Minds were playing whilst no-one else knew about it, and Jim McDermott played drums as Mel was unavailable.
The Rehearsals footage included the band running through Dirty Old Town, Sanctify Yourself and Alive And Kicking. Jim talked about live arrangements and preparing for touring and getting into the mood, Andy spoke about the use of software, being a "gear addict" and how the arrangements came together, more from Charlie's guitar tech Hilko Nackaerts and Charlie talked about how every track on Black And White 050505) worked really well in rehearsals (previous albums being more difficult to play live).
This video is worth it alone for Eddie's speech (during the rehearsals) about authority and who's been in the band the longest.
Also included is a live uninterrupted version of Alive And Kicking from the Lisbon Lions gig which appears at the end of the Lisbon Lions video.
