simple minds australian tour 2007
A surprise tour, given the band were planning on lying low in a recording studio to record the
followup to Black And White 050505.
In 2006, Australian concert promoter Andrew McManus suggested
Simple Minds build on their recent vist to
Australia and New Zealand (during the
Black And White Tour) by playing a short series of concerts with INXS
and Arrested Development.
(A tour with INXS was planned before; both bands were to tour the USA together in 2002, but was eventually
whittled down to a handful of shared gigs. Four years later, their paths crossed again, and the plans became a reality.)
"It feels great being back here so soon after our successful tour last year. The opening night will be special, we
are expecting to be playing in very warm temperatures and of course the venue is open air, it means we will need much
energy in reserve to cope with our return to the concert stage.But then again when have we ever lacked energy?"
"Last time in Perth we could see many longtime fans from Scotland, England, Ireland etc., many of whom are now
living out here. They were an extremely appreciative audience and we always respond to that! This tour will surely
help our on going rebuilding live reputation in this part of the world and that is the main aim behind deciding to

INXS / Simple Minds / Arrested Development
concert scheduled for the Derwent Entertainment Centre on Thursday March 22 has been cancelled.
Andrew McManus Presents has tried to support music fans in the State by regularly
including Tasmania in the national touring schedules of international artists (most recently
Carole King), however the cost of bringing three major bands to Hobart for this
concert requires a ticket sales result which has not been achieved. Full refunds are available from the point or purchase.
Andrew McManus Presents regrets any inconvenience caused."
