sacred eyes (demo)

composer
Words and music: Simple Minds

publisher
© 1989 Virgin Music (Publishers) Ltd

background
One of Simple Minds' best unreleased tracks, Sacred Eyes is a lengthy instrumental demo. It was originally called Roxy, probably due to its later-years Roxy Music vibe. Very much in the style of the Street Fighting Years demo material, it features Charlie, Mick and John jamming to a drum machine. The track doesn't have a discernable verse-chorus structure, and is really just a repeatative jam but it had something interesting at its core.

It's the first track of the first reel of the Street Fighting Years library in the Virgin Archive.

Unfortunately, it's the only recording and it's not the best quality. There are some volume drops, static and distortion, but the song is complete.
