grand prix night of the proms
After almost two year’s absence, Jim and
Charlie returned to the stage for a couple of
invitation only, low-key Proms gigs. Given the number of concerts, the set-list reverted to a stripped down
version of their 1997 Proms performance.
At the end of the concert, everyone appeared onstage for a rousing finale of Hey Jude.
Behind the scenes, it marked the continuation of a new phase of Simple Minds as
Jim and
Charlie continued work on what would become
Neon Lights and
Cry.
