background:
"Live line up? As yet I have not got this sorted, although giving it much consideration. Now that the
recording is pretty much finished except bonus tracks etc, I can give it my full attention. I can't involve
the Simple Minds guys because I do need to keep things separate to avoid confusion.
Looking to working with some young bucks that I have tracked down. But all very much still up in the air!" - Jim.
The band was formed to take Lostboy!’s sound on a
short promotional tour of small venues
around various western European cities. Joining Jim was
Jez Coad (Simple Minds’ and Lostboy!’s
producer who also wrote some of the Lostboy! material) and two stalwarts of the Scottish music scene:
Ged Grimes on bass (formerly part of Danny Wilson) and
Gordon Wilson on drums (previously a member of Love And Money).
The band was completed with Andy Gillespie behind the keyboards.
Jim felt it was necessary to include the Simple Minds keyboardist as
Andy knew Jim’s
working methods, and was thus able to quickly help produce the live arrangements and gel the band together.
"I spent time talking to the musicians that I hope to engage in helping me bring the Lostboy! AKA songs live.
Andy Gillespie is very keen to play a part and I would like it very much if that
worked out. Despite some previous thoughts I realise that I do need to work with someone who already knows "my idiosyncratic
language" and can then translate that to a group that I am until now unfamiliar with" - Jim.

break-up:
The band was formed to simply take the Lostboy! material on the road. And it was always going to
be short lived given Jez's reluctance to tour.
And everything was stripped down for the Electro Set Tour anyway.
