background
The final demos of this song, which were recorded under the name Let It All Come Down, are only slightly different from the final album take.

Mix #1 is now almost the same musically as album take but there are some slight differences. There's some extra, rather intrusive, keyboards at the end, and the recording cuts out before the song has finished. The lyrics are almost there as well, but the final verse is mumbled, and only the last words of each line can be heard.

Rough #1 is almost the album take. It's missing the final violin coda but is otherwise a rough mix of what's on the album.

Strings #1 now adds the strings and a female vocalist who shares various phrases such as "When you wake." The new elements are added to the right stereo channel whilst Rough #1 plays in the left channel. The final violin coda has still yet to be added.

The LP Version appears on Street Fighting Years: CD Tracks as preparation work for the the fourth-and-final single from the album.

Let It All Come Down

lyrics
Mix #1
So let it all come, let it all come down.
Why don't you let it all come, let it all come down?

[hums]

When you wake there's a new day dawning,
When you wake there's a cold wind blowing,
When day breaks there's a whole shines through.

[la, la, la]

Let it all come, let it all come down.
Why don't you let it all come, let it all come down?

[la, la, la]

A new day dawning,
A new day dawning,
Shines through.

So let it all come, let it all come down.

Rough #1 / Strings
So let it all come, let it all come down.
Let it all come, let it all come down.

Sweet tears roll like a river from your eyes,
Get close let's sleep tonight.
When you wake there's a new day dawning,
When you wake there's a cold wind blowing,
When day breaks there's a light shines through.

I'm still here with you when the morning comes.
I need you with me when the day begins.

Oh let it all come, let it all come down.
Why don't you let it all come, let it all come down.

All is in control, love is on the open road,
Make me want to live, you make me want to die.

When you wake there's a new day dawning,
When you wake there's a cold wind blowing,
When day breaks there's a light shining through.

Oh let it all come, let it all come down.
