background
This was the first title for Colours Fly And Catherine Wheel, named after
Mick's arpeggio synths.
The Monitor Mix recording, which was committed to tape on the 18th May 1982, is
extremely bass and drum heavy. This instrumental version doesn't differ much from the album
version except for a count in and extended outro. It eventually fades out.
The Rough Mix from the 30th May 1982 is also bass and drum heavy. It is also
an instrumental, with count-in and long extended outro with fade out. It doesn't differ
much from the album version.
The Fragment appears on one of
the album recording reels. It appears to be a quick burst
of the final album track.
The final track was recorded to
reel 4 on the 2nd August 1982.
The Full Duration Fragment is just the end of the Full Duration mix, the majority of the recording
having been extracted for the album master. It includes a different fade with Jim
emphasising the lyrics different. The Full Duration Instrumental is still complete on the same tape.
