background
Pleasantly Disturbed was formally recorded at CaVa Studios in Glasgow between the 11th and 12th May 1978. This early version featured slightly different lyrics, particularly during the second and third verses.

Most of this early recording was released on the The Street Fighting Years documentary.

But it wasn't until March 1998 that the entire track was issued on The Early Years 1977-78.

lyrics
The lyrics have never been published. This is a transcription

Black lines call out from his face,
His heart beats staccato pace.
I know he's not killing time.
I just don't want him for no friend of mine.

Meanwhile Susan was walking alone,
She walked upon my danger zone,
Who knows what [???] can bring,
You get so bad when your phone don't ring.

Can you see me? I'm in the lukewarm rain
Try so very hard,
You know I just can't explain.
I ???,
Got nothing to do.
'Aint got nothing
And nothing to do.

I've seen the streetlights,
Shine on the underground.
I've heard the dead fight,
When there's no other sound.
I've seen the streetlights,
Shine on the underground,
I've heard the dead fight,
When there's no other sound.

Streetlight,
Streetlight,
Streetlight,
Streetlight sweetlight.
