simple minds: two tracks (listening copy)
tracks
1. Sons And Fascination
2. What Goes

recording date
July 1981

line-up
Simple Minds #8

producer
Steve Hillage

studio
Regents Park

additional information
This 2-track listening copy was recorded in July 1981 as the sessions for the album gradually came to a close. What makes it interesting is the second track, the previously undocumented What Goes.

The backing tracks for the album were recorded at Farmyard Studios, with the final mixing and overdubs at Regents Park. So, given the date of this recording, plus the fact that it was being mixed at Regents Park, What Goes was probably near completion.

Unfortunately the mystery of What Goes has yet to be solved. Original song? Cover version? Existing song with different name? We'll probably never know as the tape has long disappeared.
