The tour is winding up this year with a number of Christmas shows in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Sweat In Bullet will be released this month. All formats feature a driving new remix by Pete Walsh. And to further spoil us, the single will be released on three formats; but it's the 7" double pack and 12" which will be of most interest, as they feature live tracks recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in September.

The tour is continuing and this month will visit USA and Canada.

It turns out at the Hammersmith gigs in September were recorded and tracks are expected to be included on the new single.

The two albums have now been separated and Sister Feelings Call is now available as a separate LP; albeit a budget album.

Lots to report this month.

A new single, Love Song has just been finished to give a taster for the album, and is issued on 7" and 12" And, the band have even shot a video for it; the first since 1979's Chelsea Girl.

The new album, Sons And Fascination will be released at the end of the month. For a limited period of one month, it'll include a bonus album called Sister Feelings Call.

And Simple Minds will be starting an extensive tour this month; it's expected to take in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and then back to the UK. Sadly Brian McGee left the band after completing the album, and he's replaced by Kenny Hyslop.

Work is continuing at a frenzied rate on the new album. At the moment, they've recorded so much material that it looks like being a double.

Unbelieveably quickly, considering they've only spent a month or so in the studio, a new single has just been issued, their first on Virgin. The American is issued on 7" and 12".

Probably thinking that Simple Minds should be touring at the moment, Arista have issued the (frankly dull) new single Celebrate. The 12" is worth getting for the extended mix, but that's about it.

In the meantime, Simple Minds are in the studio with new producer Steve Hillage working on new material.

The tour of Canada and the USA had to be cut short as Brian was suffering from nervous exhaustion. It looks like the UK tour will also be cancelled.

Cutting their losses the band will return to the studio and begin work on their first Virgin album.

Simple Minds are finally free of Arista. They've had to surrender the royalities of their first three albums to the record company, but they're off the label.

Further good news: they've signed to Virgin. Richard Branson and Simon Draper have travelled up to Glasgow to meet the band, and to hear the latest demos recorded by the band.

To celebrate a short tour is being planned, which will comprise of a couple of dates in Europe, followed by a tour of Canada and the USA, and then back to the UK.

The proposed UK tour has been cancelled. The band have neither the finances, nor the promotion, to make it a success. Brian is also threatening to quit, stating that all their hard work is getting them nowhere.
