The UK tour winds up this month with a new years concert at The Technical College, Glasgow. They will also record a John Peel session which will be aired in January.

The new, and very different, album Real To Real Cacophony has now been released. Whilst it looks unlikely to chart, the reviews are far more positive.

Meanwhile, the band have started a tour of the UK.

The band start a tour of the European mainland this month; it will include gigs in Germany, Belgium and Sweden. As they want to appear on The Old Grey Whistle Test again, they'll also be travelling to the US for a couple of gigs in New York, where the BBC film crew are currently filming.

The UK tour winds up this week; the band will finish a couple of London gigs (including The Marquee) before travelling to Wales to record their next album.

However, a one-off gig at the Paris Theatre in London is planned for September 8th. This will be recorded by the BBC and broadcast in the near future.

As expected, Chelsea Girl is to be the new single, released at the end of June. The B-side, Garden Of Hate, was recorded especially for the single, and is one of a batch of new songs.

And these new songs can be heard on the band's forthcoming UK tour which kicks off at Barbarella's, Birmingham.

With the successful Magazine tour over, Simple Minds have also announced that Bruce is now officially their manager, and they have also secured a publishing deal.

The band will be having a brief rest before embarking on their own tour of the UK. A new single is also expected to coincide with the start of the tour.

Life In A Day is now climbing the charts, and Simple Minds are currently half-way through their first UK tour supporting Magazine.

Simple Minds first single is released this month on Zoom.

With the album now finished, the band will be appearing on The Old Grey Whistle Test and playing for a Radio One session.

Warm up dates have been announced. This is for a UK tour in April and May supporting Magazine.

Simple Minds have almost finished their first LP which is to be called Life In A Day.

It was recorded at Farmyard Studios in Amersham using the Rolling Stones Mobile. From there, they moved to London, for mixing at Townhouse and Abbey Road.

John Leckie was the producer.

The band have been working at a barn on a farm near Edinburgh where they're selecting and rejecting material for their new LP (provisionally titled Children Of The Game). They've even managed to write a new song whilst sorting through everything; it's called Life In A Day.
