Whilst cover version are themselves easy to document and classify, the situation is a little clouded by
some Simple Minds releases being issued under pseudonyms, and Jim
re-recording and re-working several key Simple Minds tracks and releasing them under different band names.
The ones I know about have been collected here.
Given their connections with Simple Minds, and the fact that several of these recordings have been reissued
as Simple Minds releases, then it isn't unreasonable to consider these releases part of the mainstream
Simple Minds discography, albeit released under different names.

taormina covers
The first release of a Simple Minds song through Absolutely Records wasn't
released with the band's name, nor, arguably, was it by Simple Minds. Although
The Floating World appeared as the last song of the
Cry album, it was solely written by Vince Clarke.

biba rom covers
So far, two Biba-Rom releases have appeared as promos from the Italian Absolutely label.
Jim has re-recorded the vocals for radical remixes by Phunk Investigation,
with Absolutely commissioning further remixes to flesh out the records.
Given the connection with Biba-Rom!, it isn't unreasonable to consider these releases
part of the mainstream Simple Minds discography, albeit released under a different name.
