background
It was picked from the two track demo tape sent to Chiswick Records and appeared as the B-side of their debut single.
(Although it showed more promise than the A-side and is felt by some to be the better song.)
As one of the better songs from the period, it survived into 1978, with Mick MacNeil
adding keyboards to pull the song from its punk beginnings.
It was finally released on CD as part of the Chiswick retrospective album
Good Clean Fun - The Chiswick Sampler (Chiswick CDWIKX 162, released 1995).
It was due to the influence of Simple Minds fans Eddie Duffy and
Andy Gillepsie that the song was "rediscovered" by the band in 2002, and performed
as a belting encore during the The Floating World Tour.
